Tekken Europe- Interview with Link

Message par math_law »

Greetings my fellas,
I could not attend to the last DamagermanY2010 Tourney but heard Link had a good success there.
First of all i would like to congratulate him. I also have taken the oppurtunity to take his views & ideas about the Koreans and the tournament with a short interview.
Sincerely
math_law
--------------------------

The second DamagermanY tournament held in Frankfurt/Germany hosted the legendary Knee and NIN from Korea.
As usual the tournament gathered all top players around europe. The big surprise was from Link who had passed all top Europen collegues and matched aganist NIN in the losers final and taking the 3rd place at the end after Knee and NIN.
We have taken the oppurtunity to talk about this achievement , the big development and his ideas.

TT: first of all congratulations Link with your 3rd place in maxdamagermany2010
could you introduce yourself to us ?
Link: Well thanks before anything!
My nickname is Link and i live in Paris/France

TT:it is a great to be the runner up after Koreans in a europe wide tourney.
what do you think about your degree at the end?
Link: im really really happy that i can prove that i can do something in Europe.
I think i was lucky that my opponents do not really know Bruce

TT: You have beaten some of the top europen players.
However you lost to both Knee and Nin. How was your matchups aganist the Koreans ?
Are they really that good?
Link: I just played against Knee in the tournament and he destroyed me!
I think the difference between koreans guys and us is : first their knowledge of the game. They know how punish every unsafe move.
second thing their incredible mind game. They have like a computer inside their head and often, they choose the best possible option to knock you down.
and last, their move. Knee own the stage, multiple backdash, step etc. damn it's hard to touch him!

TT: -How could you describe their game style?
What is the strongest points that identifies them... Experience ? Creativity ? Calmness?
Link: Of course their experience is important because when you play all day long against malgu, rain, prince etc. you'l become stronger
ill add that i like their capacity to adapt them to their opponents style
Nin for exemple play differently against a pitbull or a turtler!

TT: You have beaten some of the top european players as well.
Which was your most difficult matchup?
Link: he's very very solid
Malekith and Ryan Hart
But most Malekith

TT: You have made several come-backs and won the matches with close scores such 3-2 or 4-3. How that happened? Can you make yourself calm at any time during the match?
Link: That was really weird but i was pretty calm during my matchs
i knew that if i stress just one second ill be dead
i tried to understand the style of my opponent and my good star help me, a lot!

TT: does the big crowd behind you , shouting when you win a round makes you excited or more motivated?
Link: Absolutely motivated!
That is thanks to them that i could win these matchs, that was very intense
If they were not there i could not won just one matchs ! haha!
serioustly i very thankfull to all of them
I know ryan calm me during my match against knee
and some europeans too
but most of support come from french guys!
some of my friend break their voices haahaha

TT: How was your success rate with combos?
Do you think you have made the best from combos & walls ?
Link: I think i was in a good day and i did not miss some combos, Bruce's tech trap worked
but hopefully bruce's combos are not very difficult

TT: How was your success rate with throw-breaking? How did it effected the result of the rounds in general?
Link: i think my ratio was like 1/3
im not a good breaker^^ i was lucky that my opponents do not throw a lot

TT: is it because, you dont let your opponent get close to you?
Link: i try to keep him away bruce need space

TT: how was the success rate of koreans throw breaking
Link: Knee was almost 100%
Nin too
but as a throw is not a good choice to me, i did not throwed him

TT: how about Bruce in Tekken 6 , do you think the character itself has an effect with your success?
Link: Oh yeah, he's a beast in this Tekken when you compare to DR
he almost has every weapons
to me he is a top tiers but the weaker one

TT: lets get to a different subject. Where are you from and how is the tekken scene in your country?
Link: I'm from France, the communauty grows day after day. We have the chance to have almost two tournament by month.

TT: how much players attend to these tournamens on average?
Link: hum i think around 35
sometimes more sometimes less

TT: i know you also hold some home-sessions right?
Link: yeah of course. it's essential to level-up!

TT: how many hours of tekken do you play in a week?
Link: About ten hours i think

TT: do you play tekken 6 online?
Link: oh no i dont like that

TT: are you using an arcade stick or pad?
Link:Pad, i would like play on a stick but it's too hard for me !

TT: Do you know about Turkey and turkish tekken community?
Link: i know kefta and kebab!
I kidding i know Math Law a good Law player who came in france few month ago
unfortunately nothing more.

TT: i think that is all i was going to ask , thanks for your time Link.
Link: Thats me who must thank you! It was cool!
hahaha sorry for my english man!

TT: We wish you to keep your rank at least in 3rd place in the following tournaments. Good luck link !
Link: Thank you very muck ill try !
