This is all new to me so in future I'll be able to size them better.

Yeah, no.1 is indeed Alien, 2 & 3 are wrong though. If you want a hint, then genre wise 2 is a western and 3 is sci fi but I think you realised that for 3

Dances With Wolves was released before this movie, although like Kevin Costner the star of this movie also directed it.

I have a friend who could translate this into French, alas she is not online.
